Lecture, internet research, directed class discussion, group and individual analyses of case studies, and hands-on application of entrepreneurial techniques in the local community all will contribute to students’ in-depth understanding of franchising in both theory and practice. In general, the in-class strategy of instruction will consist of an equal mix of lecture and inquiry-based instruction. Two field trips will be arranged before and after the midterm, focusing on restaurant and hotel franchises.
