We will examine each type of function in four different ways.

(1) We will perform algebraic manipulations in order to solve equations and inequalities based on polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions.
(2) We will learn how to visualize polynomial, exponential, rational, and logarithmic functions by exploring their graphical representations.
(3) We will study the real-world applications of polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions to problems in business, economics, and finance.
(4) We will use software tools (e.g., Excel) to examine the better understand polynomial, rational, logarithmic, and exponential functions. Software tools can help us construct graphs and carry out analyses that are too complex to do by hand.
