社會工作倫理是社會工作專業性形成的重點之一,因此也是社會工作實務工作者必備的訓練。社會工作倫理並非普羅大多數對於倫理的狹義概念,而是連結價值往復思辨的嚴謹過程。舉例而言,一位長者在台灣大道躊躇不敢過馬路,社會工作倫理旨步在於探索「該不該幫助」,而在於反思「不論身不伸出援手,而為何決定這樣做」。換言之,社會工作的歷程必然牽涉決策,決策背後即是權力關係的展現,而潛藏在權力脈絡的邏輯即為社會工作倫理施展的場域。因此,這門課不但指引著專業的發展,也指引社會工作實務的操作。透過這門課的討論與講授,從同學所學的相關學門知識,搭配實習的觀察與經驗,而後在課堂中以講授、思考與對話的學習中,為日後進入各種職場或往後的生活日常架構行事、決策思辨的邏輯系統。Social work ethics is one of the key points in the formation of social work professionalism, so it is also a necessary training for social work practitioners. Social work ethics is not the narrow concept of ethics that most people have, but a rigorous process of repeated contemplation of values. For example, an elderly person is hesitant to cross the street on Taiwan Avenue. The purpose of social work ethics is not only to explore "whether we should help," but also to reflect on "why we decided to do so regardless of whether we lend a helping hand or not." In other words, the process of social work inevitably involves decision-making. Behind the decision-making is the display of power relations, and the logic hidden in the context of power is the field where social work ethics is exerted. Therefore, this course not only guides the development of the profession, but also guides the practical operation of social work. Through the discussion and teaching of this course, students can learn relevant knowledge from the field, combined with the observation and experience of the internship, and then use the teaching, thinking and dialogue in the classroom to prepare themselves for entering various workplaces or future life.
