本課程主要是Karl Polanyi經典《鉅變》（The Great Transformation）的導讀。透過工業革命與《濟貧法》、歐文（Robert Owen）及其社會實驗和William Blake的浪漫主義神學等三個參考座標，本課程嘗試還原《鉅變》的歷史、社會與知識脈絡，並透過文本講授與討論，協助修課同學掌握《鉅變》的思想貢獻與Karl Polanyi理論的當代重要意義。

This course is mainly a guide to Karl Polanyi's classic "The Great Transformation". Through three reference coordinates, including the Industrial Revolution and Economic Law, Robert Owen and his social experience and William Blake's Romantic Theology, this course tries to restore the historical, social and intellectual connections of "Divine Change", and teach and discuss through text, assisting students in the course to master the ideological contributions of "Divine Change" and the important contemporary meanings of "Divine Change" and Karl Polanyi's theories.
