家庭,作為提供社會化 (socialisation) 的第一個場域,以及組成家庭的主要元素——婚姻,是社會學分科裡重要且與每個人切身相關的。但對家庭的研究並不只是社會學的專屬主題,家庭所含括的層面廣泛,包含夫妻關係、親子關係、性行為、經濟功能、子女教育、多元家庭等等,不能只以社會學觀念和理論來解釋。
前半學期著重於介紹家庭理論,後半學期會帶領學生閱讀近期相關學術研究期刊論文及西方對當代家庭、婚姻、親密關係的分析,透過課堂討論,比較當代台灣社會的婚姻與家庭及西方家庭的組成變革有何不同。透過實證研究的結果,來了解當代婚姻與家庭的維持與瓦解、家務與經濟活動之分工、性別態度、親密關係的種類等議題。The family, as the first field that provides socialisation, and the main element that constitutes the family - marriage, is important in the sociology discipline and relevant to everyone. However, the study of the family is not just an exclusive subject of sociology. The family encompasses a wide range of aspects, including husband-wife relationships, parent-child relationships, sexual behavior, economic functions, children's education, plural families, etc. We cannot just rely on sociological concepts and theories. to explain.
The first half of the semester focuses on introducing family theory. In the second half of the semester, students will be led to read recent relevant academic research journal articles and Western analyzes of contemporary families, marriages, and intimate relationships. Through class discussions, students will compare marriage and family in contemporary Taiwanese society and the composition of Western families. What a difference change makes. Through the results of empirical research, we can understand issues such as the maintenance and disintegration of contemporary marriages and families, the division of housework and economic activities, gender attitudes, types of intimate relationships, etc.
