分別由兩位重要的學者,David Halpern(1966-)以及於Albert Otto Hirschman(1915-2012)所著。讀本包括Social Capital(中文譯本《社會資本》)、Exit, Voice, and Loyalty(中文譯本《叛離、抗議與忠誠》),以及Shifting involvements(中文譯本《轉變參與》)。
Sociology has taught me to embrace the world with a more open and broad mind. Even if the voices in this knowledge world are complicated, as long as we calm down and read well, we will gain something and gain society everywhere. I would think: Human beings are never "rational people" in the context of economics. Human beings are irrational creatures. I hope that through this class, in addition to understanding the interaction and accumulation between people, I can also learn more about myself, especially the irrational part.
This semester we will read three books. Written by two important scholars, David Halpern (1966-) and Albert Otto Hirschman (1915-2012). Readings include Social Capital (Chinese translation of "Social Capital"), Exit, Voice, and Loyalty (Chinese translation of "Defection, Protest and Loyalty"), and Shifting involvements (Chinese translation of "Transformation Participation"). I think this is a text that sociology departments rarely read in the past, and it can even be said to be a neglected part. Through this opportunity, we can not only review the classics, but also understand more concepts that we often take for granted but are often abused intentionally or unintentionally during this semester. Understand what kind of situations there will be in our lives, and because of such situations, we make decisions after constant collision and thinking at the spiritual level.
