本課程的目標在於帶領各位進入藝社社會學的殿堂，希望透過社會學的觀點，去在理解文學、藝術與社會三者之間的關係。課程內涵主要包含：

（一） 社會學如何理解文學與藝術：這個部分將從從摩里斯．懷茲(Morris Weitz)和丹托(Arthur Danto)對藝術的定義談起，並透過布迪厄(Bourdieu)的實證研究來帶領同學進入社會學理解文藝的幾種基本觀點。

（二） 文化生產的社會過程：文藝的社會過程除了具有創作與鑑賞的美學意義，也牽涉到經濟上或象徵上的的生產與消費的意義，以及社會方面的評價意義，更牽涉到政治文化與政策上的正當性的問題。本課程將從上述不同的面向出發，分別探討文藝與社會之間的關係。

（三） 文藝作品的社會學研究：這個部分將會透過實地參訪、案例討論與專題演講的方式，來讓同學實際地去體驗作品的內涵，並透過社會學的觀點來理解作品與社會之間的關係。

The goal of this course is to lead you into the sociology of art societies, hoping to understand the relationship between literature, art and society through the perspective of sociology. The content of the course mainly includes:

(1) How sociology understands literature and art: This part will start from Morris. Morris Weitz and Arthur Danto talked about the definition of art, and through Bourdieu's empirical research, they led students into several basic perspectives on sociological understanding of literature and art.

(2) The social process of cultural production: In addition to the aesthetic significance of creation and appreciation, the social process of literature and art also involves the economic or symbolic meaning of production and consumption, as well as the social evaluation significance, and also involves issues of political, cultural and policy legitimacy. This course will start from the above different aspects and explore the relationship between literature, art and society.

(3) Sociological research on literary and artistic works: This part will allow students to actually experience the connotation of the works through on-site visits, case discussions and special lectures, and understand the relationship between the works and society from a sociological perspective.
