本課程承繼大二的政治學研究法基礎,於開始對研究法作簡略的複習後,課程主要重點在針對統計學的基本原則和方法,以及統計學在社會科學的運用之教學,期使同學對統計在研究政治現象所扮演的角色有深入的瞭解。並配合統計軟體的介
紹與實作,使學生能夠獨立從事資料分析。第一學期中考前期,著重於社會科學的研究法重要觀念快速複習,期中考後以及第二學期著重於資料的分析和統計學實務的研討和實作。主要內容有(1) 社會科學研究法,研究的基本概念和研究設計; (2) 統計學在社會科學的運用與角色;(3) 統計分析的方法(使用MS EXCEL、SPSS、R)。最終目標使學生能夠獨立從事資料分析。This course follows the political research method in sophomore year. 本課程旨在訓練政治系同學在計量研究上的理論與實務,以便於未來無論在學術上或實務上瞭解社會、政治及經濟現象的本質,並能知道如何針對實際問題,提出研究計畫並實地從事蒐集資料,進一步分析得出結論。本課程主要分為四大部份:經驗研究的基礎;研究的設計與結構;資料的蒐集;資料的統計與分析。
