Western Political Thoughts
教育目標 Course Target
本課程重點在於從思想層面探討西方國家民主理路，包括三條主軸。第一是真民主和假民主分別。真民主重視法治，揚棄民粹弊端。第二是保障菁英和保護弱勢。保障菁英為的是提供善治，保護弱勢則是試圖維持社會和諧。第三是自利與共善的行為假設。唯有社會成員不輕易質疑他人用心，才能維持民主政治良好運作。
The focus of this course is to explore the democratic management path of Western countries from the ideological level, including three main axes. The first is the distinction between real democracy and fake democracy. True democracy emphasizes the rule of law and defeats the disadvantages of populism. The second is to protect elites and protect weaknesses. To protect elites is to provide good governance and to protect weaknesses is to try to maintain social harmony. The third is the hypothesis of self-interest and common good. Only when social members do not easily doubt others' care can they maintain good democratic politics.
