本課程介紹生物學給生命科學專業的學生,為進入生命科學領域奠定紮實的基礎。課程目的在使未來專業在分子生物、遺傳工程、生態保育或跨學科之領域的學生,皆能因充分認識地球上的生物多樣性與生態系統而認知生命現象及其豐富。本學期課程藉講演和視聽教材依序介紹生物的起源與演化,認識微生物、植物與動物的多樣性、形態結構和生理功能。使用 Campbell 所著的原文書,讓同學瞭解生物學的專有名詞和熟習英文用語,能夠閱讀與吸收英文撰寫的生物學知識。
This course introduces biology to life science majors and lays a solid foundation for entering the field of life sciences. The purpose of the course is to enable future students majoring in molecular biology, genetic engineering, ecological conservation or interdisciplinary fields to fully understand the biological diversity and ecosystems on the earth and appreciate the phenomena and richness of life. This semester's course uses lectures and audio-visual teaching materials to introduce the origin and evolution of living things in sequence, and to understand the diversity, morphological structure and physiological functions of microorganisms, plants and animals. Using the original text written by Campbell, students will be able to understand biological nouns and familiar English terms, and be able to read and absorb biological knowledge written in English.
本課程的目的在於使大一新生能夠廣泛的瞭解生物學的知識,本課程之教材為Campbell 所著的原文書,其目的在於使大一的同學能夠熟習並瞭解許多生物學上的英文用語,希望透過本課程的學習能夠使大一新生具有相當的基礎來閱讀並學習以英文書寫的生物學知識。
The purpose of this course is to enable freshmen to have a broad understanding of biological knowledge. The textbook for this course is the original book written by Campbell. Its purpose is to enable freshmen to become familiar with and understand many English terms in biology. It is hoped that through the study of this course, freshmen will have a considerable foundation to read and learn biological knowledge written in English.
