Senior Play is a two-semester elective course for fourth-year students. Tunghai FLLD has a tradition of producing a Senior Play in English and this has been formalized in an actual course. Students will begin with an examination of a play, read the carefully-edited text, and begin casting in October. The play will be blocked in scenes and sections, all of which must be rehearsed independently. The various parts will be connected in December, and a full-length production without costumes will be ready before Lunar New Year. After the Lunar Break, work will be carried out preparing scenery, music and costumes. Rehearsals and dress rehearsals will take place in April, and the play will be performed in early May. The instructor will teach body movement on stage, and voice projection.
