Course Objectives: at the conclusion of the course students will be expected to
1. Recognize major trends in contemporary short fiction
2. Be able to and present their conclusions in oral reports or presentations
3. Be able to analyze texts and draw their conclusions in cogent short essays
4. Become familiar with a number of modern and living authors and their works.
