The objective of this course is to build up advanced reading ability by use of the following reading strategies: locating main ideas, recognizing major vs. minor details, examining organizational patterns, making inferences, identifying author's purpose and tone etc. Students will become better readers through reading intensively (following specific reading strategies and skills) and reading extensively (reading authentic materials).
