《西遊記》為明代中晚期家喻戶曉通俗小說，成書四百餘年來，人們始終不斷受其影響，在每個人成長歷程中，留下程度不一的認知與影響。
本課程在《西遊記》概論之後，透過若干「單元故事」引導閱讀並賞析內容，使小說潛寓之人生體悟有深入認識。此外，為建立修課者對小說學術背景具備基礎概念，故安排「研究論文析讀」作為進階學習。
在課堂解說之外，本課程期許提供較多參與空間，鼓勵口語表達討論，並透過「創意續作」激盪自由想像之創作能力。此外，課程穿插影片欣賞和小說其他多元表現形式介紹，相信能讓修課者瞭解《西遊記》如何在不同時空背景，展現其別具特色之多元風貌，由此產生各種新的人生啟發。"Journey to the West" is a well-known popular novel in the middle and late Ming Dynasty. For more than 400 years since its publication, people have been constantly influenced by it, leaving varying degrees of recognition and influence in everyone's growth process.
After the introduction of "Journey to the West", this course guides the reading and appreciation of the content through several "unit stories", so as to gain a deep understanding of the life experience hidden in the novel. In addition, in order to establish the basic concepts of the academic background of novels in the course, "Analysis of Research Papers" is arranged as an advanced study.
In addition to classroom explanations, this course hopes to provide more space for participation, encourage oral expression and discussion, and stimulate the creative ability of free imagination through "creative sequels". In addition, the course is interspersed with film appreciation and introduction to other diverse expressions of the novel, which I believe will enable course participants to understand how "Journey to the West" displays its unique and diverse features in different time and space backgrounds, thereby generating various new life inspirations.
