透過本課程的教授，讓同學們了解到量化的統計方法如何應用在論文的寫作上。而一些基本的統計學觀念與專業知識，也可以在本課程當中學習得到。同學們在修習完本課程以後，便能夠了解到統計在我們的生活當中，可以說是無所不在，時時刻刻在影響著我們對於事物的立場態度之型塑。而在了解統計的這些基本觀念之後，同學們也更能夠對於統計數據能夠作出正確的解讀。除此之外，本堂課也要讓同學們熟悉使用一些基礎的統計軟體，例如：EXCEL、SPSS，對於如何透過這些統計軟體，來解決自己論文的Through the professors in this course, students can understand how quantitative statistical methods can be applied to the writing of papers. Some basic stereotype concepts and professional knowledge can also be learned in this course. After completing this course, students can understand that it is considered to be invisible in our lives, and it is always affecting our position on things. After understanding these basic concepts of statistics, students are more able to make correct answers to statistics data. In addition, this class should also make students familiar with the use of some basic statistical software, such as EXCEL and SPSS, on how to solve their own discussion through these statistical software.
量化研究方法主要在提供公共行政與公共政策研究所須的各種計量分析工具。透過本課程的學習，希望同學能瞭解應用統計的基本觀念，知道何時與如何進行統計分析，能實際運用統計軟體，並有能力解讀無所不在的統計數字。因此，除去統計理論的研習之外，本課程亦將要求同學 hands-on 實際操作統計軟體 （如SAS或SPSS）。
Quantitative research methods mainly provide various quantitative analysis tools required by the Institute of Public Administration and Public Policy. Through the learning of this course, I hope that students can understand the basic concepts of application statistics, know when and how to conduct statistical analysis, can actually use statistical software, and have the ability to understand the non-existent statistical numbers. Therefore, in addition to the study of theories, this course will also require students to actually operate the statistical software (such as SAS or SPSS).
