This course highlights the importance and role of Decision Support System, DSS. It also provides an overview of the specialization, as well as its goals, structure, and expectations. The course tends to give the student the concepts and applications of the DSS, including type of decisions, type of decision makers, modeling decisions, decisions within organizations, rule based expert systems, and simulation as a DSS application if possible. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

(1) To provide students with the main concepts of Decision Support System (DSS) and management sciences, and also with the components of DSS and the main players who participate in the decision process.
(2) To study management science models especially optimization skills, linear programming, network and decision tree, etc.
(3) To explain key areas contributing to DSS such as data mining, knowledge acquisition, expert system and knowledge base systems, etc.
