Process Integration and Optimization

教育目標 Course Target

課程目標 (Course Objectives):
Students will be exposed to a wide range of topics in the area of process synthesis such as process energy saving technology and hierarchical flowsheet synthesis methodology. Through the course, students are expected to be familiar with the terminology and various applications as related to process synthesis.

課程內涵 (Course Contents):
This course is an integral part of process system engineering and will be introduced in the context of seeking a globally optimum process structure in converting raw materials into desired products. Specifically, process synthesis and integration methodologies deal with the creation, development, and optimization of process flowsheet structures. These topics will be discussed and special emphasis will be placed on heat exchanger network analysis, separation system synthesis, reaction system synthesis, and overall process integration strategies. A review of current literature will be conducted.
