本課程介紹蛋白質在生命科學中的重要性及在醫學上的重要性及應用。將給予同學較廣泛深入探討蛋白質的生物有機化學及生物物理的性質,有利於大學畢業後參加生物醫學及生化研究。課程內容如下:
Importance and diversity of proteins. Active and inactive conformations of proteins. Importance of enzyme inhibitors in the development of modern drugs.Suicide enzyme inactivators. Receptor-ligand interactions and cooperativity, allosteric enzymes, Scatchard equation and the Hill equation, enzyme mechanisms, mechanisms of selected enzymes: catalase, superoxide dismutase, carbonic anhydrase, cytochrome P450, Glutathione transferase, glutathione peroxidases, restriction endonucleases, etc. Mechanisms and clinical significance of protein folding.
This course introduces the importance of protein in life sciences and its importance and application in medicine. Students will be given a broad and in-depth exploration of the properties of bioorganic chemistry and biophysics of protein, which is conducive to participating in biomedical and biochemical research after graduating from university.
