In contemporary philosophy, psychological philosophy is one of the most active and important research areas. People have various psychological phenomena, and other non-human animals also have psychological phenomena, but non-animals may not have psychological phenomena. As far as humans are concerned, psychological phenomena are related to human activities. Psychological phenomena such as hope, fear, dreams, thoughts, and desires play a role in our lives. Some psychological phenomena, such as reason, are even considered to be the mark of distinguishing people from non-human animals. Psychology studies the nature of these psychological phenomena, which is particularly concerned with the relationship between psychological phenomena and the body, and even with the physical world. It also discusses consciousness, thoughts and language, actions, self, etc. In this course, students are expected to have a basic understanding of psychological philosophy by explaining and discussing these topics.
