在當代哲學中，心理哲學是最活躍且最重要的研究領域之一。人有各種心理現象，其它非人動物也有心理現象，而非動物可能沒有心理現象。就人而言，心理現象與人類活動習習相關，希望、恐懼、夢境、思想、欲望等心理現象在我們的生活中扮演了某種角色，某些心理現象，例如理性，甚至被認為是區分人和非人動物的標記。心理哲學研究這些心理現象的本質，它特別關心心理現象和身體、甚至是和物理世界之間的關係，它也討論意識、思想和語言、行動、自我等等。在這門課中，透過解說和討論這些議題，期望學生對心理哲學有基本的認識。

In contemporary philosophy, philosophy of mind is one of the most active and important fields of research. Humans have various psychological phenomena, and other non-human animals also have psychological phenomena. Non-animals may not have psychological phenomena. As far as humans are concerned, psychological phenomena are related to human activities and habits. Psychological phenomena such as hopes, fears, dreams, thoughts, and desires play a certain role in our lives. Certain psychological phenomena, such as rationality, are even considered to be markers that distinguish humans from non-human animals. Philosophy of mind studies the nature of these psychological phenomena. It is particularly concerned with the relationship between psychological phenomena and the body, and even the physical world. It also discusses consciousness, thought and language, action, self, etc. In this course, through explanation and discussion of these issues, students are expected to have a basic understanding of the philosophy of mind.
