甘肅敦煌自古是中原通往西域絲綢之路上的重鎮，歷代以來，經歷多元文化的融合，使得敦煌藝術無論是繪畫、彩塑、服飾等，都反映出中西文化交流的社會風貌。除了豐富的創造力和想像力外，敦煌藝術還包含了儒釋道三教合一的圖像，呈現了歷代的社會生活情狀，是中國古代的重要文化遺產。
本課程透過選材講授及專題討論，輔以Power Point 及影片教材，引導學生深入瞭解敦煌藝術文化的重要內涵，擴充人文領域學習面向，厚植學生藝術鑑賞修養，並啟發現代文化創意產業開發靈感。Dunhuang, Gansu Province, has been an important town on the Silk Road from the Central Plains to the Western Regions since ancient times. Over the past dynasties, it has experienced the integration of multiple cultures, making Dunhuang art, whether it is paintings, colored sculptures, costumes, etc., reflect the social style of Chinese and Western cultural exchanges. In addition to its rich creativity and imagination, Dunhuang art also contains images of the three religions of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, showing the social life of the past dynasties, and is an important cultural heritage of ancient China.
Through selected lectures and special discussions, supplemented by Power Point and video teaching materials, this course guides students to gain an in-depth understanding of the important connotations of Dunhuang art and culture, expands the learning aspects of the humanities field, enriches students' art appreciation, and inspires the development of modern cultural and creative industries.
