教育目標 Course Target
An exploration of the techniques of melodic composition and improvisation based on the scales and chords commonly used in jazz. Introduction to the language of jazz improvisation: the blues, rhythms, articulations, style, harmony and melody, forms, simple analysis, chord/scale relationships, ear training and keyboard harmony.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to identify (visually and aurally), analyze and improvise (on their chosen instrument or voice) over the blues and basic chord progressions utilized in tunes that are common in the jazz idiom.
