The Inspired Island: A Series of Eminent Writers From Taiwan

Course Target

note: As Mencius said, "If you read his poems, do you know who is good? Therefore, this course discusses the life and text analysis of the collaborator as the two main axes. The emphasis on text interpretation and analysis must be contextualized to form the life and era of the collaborator. In this way, the author's life and era are presented in the form of a record, striving to achieve a socially-based "reduction of phenomena" to capture the contemporary atmosphere and sensory structure of text writing. But let me emphasize that the screening of this course record is definitely for the "killing time". Students should not misunderstand the core spirit behind this course design when choosing classes. In addition, the part of text analysis emphasizes detailed reading and detailed reading. Students should be fully prepared to share their reading experiences and experiences of the recording every week. In short, this course is not a "quiet" course, so please do not try it if you are honest, so as not to think that you are in the hawk when you come to the class. This course uses the series of literary masters "They Writing in Islands" as the main course. On the one hand, it uses recordings as the medium and uses the film language of young directors as the guide. It introduces the most important writers after the Taiwan War to classmates. Through recordings, we can learn more about the life and creation of writers; on the other hand, we study the writers' representative works and master their literary aesthetics, hoping to rekindle a new wave of "literary rejuvenation" through in-depth reading of the works. "They Written in Islands" is the most important literary record of the 21st century Taiwan literary forum and the most profound literary film of the Taiwan Film Forum. In the visual language of record films/literary films, it presents the creative spirits of seven important writers in Taiwan after the war, including Lin Haiyin, Zhou Mengdie, Zheng Chouyu, Wang Wenxing, Lu Xian, Bai Xianyong and Yang Mu. Through the image, this course hopes that students in the course can understand and influence important writers of Taiwan’s literature for several generations, and refer to the study of important representative works of the writers, integrate text, literature, images and movies, and read the details and thickness of Taiwan’s culture in the charming light and shadow events and literary historical memories, as well as the grand and modern progress of Taiwan’s history and social changes in the later war. Through diverse literary works, this course is positioned as a practical and aesthetic practice. Through in-depth study, exploration and analysis of literary works, we hope to invite the participants to become the subject of aesthetics and further develop literary creation.
