本課程承繼大二的政治學研究法基礎，於開始對研究法作簡略的複習後，課程主要重點在針對統計學的基本原則和方法，以及統計學在社會科學的運用之教學，期使同學對統計在研究政治現象所扮演的角色有深入的瞭解。並配合統計軟體的介
紹與實作，使學生能夠獨立從事資料分析。第一學期中考前期，著重於社會科學的研究法重要觀念快速複習，期中考後以及第二學期著重於資料的分析和統計學實務的研討和實作。主要內容有(1) 社會科學研究法，研究的基本概念和研究設計； (2) 統計學在社會科學的運用與角色；(3) 統計分析的方法(使用MS EXCEL、SPSS、R)。最終目標使學生能夠獨立從事資料分析。This course follows the political research method in sophomore year. After starting a brief revision of research method, the course mainly focuses on the basic principles and methods of statistical engineering, as well as the teaching of the application of statistical engineering in social sciences, so as to enable students to have an in-depth understanding of the role played by statistics in studying political phenomena. And cooperate with the introduction of the statistical software
Study and practice to enable students to conduct independent research and analysis of data. In the early stage of the first grade, we focused on rapid revision of important concepts of research methods in social sciences. After the middle school entrance examination and the second grade, we focused on the analysis of data and the study and implementation of statistical practices. The main contents include (1) social science research method, basic concepts and research design of research; (2) the application and role of statistical science in social science; (3) methods of statistical analysis (using MS EXCEL, SPSS, R). The ultimate goal allows students to independently conduct data analysis.
