教育目標 Course Target

加強英文閱讀理解能力、為高年級核心課程作預備。精進普通生物學之教學以及奠立大一學生紥實的生物學識基礎、銜接本系大學部二年級「生物學研究導論」及三四年級「生物醫學專題論文」及「生態學專題論文」課程,讓學生在知識、閱讀能力、實作能力的養成教育上,提供一貫的發展脈絡。本課程預期奠定學生未來在學識(遺傳學及分子生物學)和研究實作(生物醫學專題論文及生態學專題論文)的基礎能力。每班15至20人實施小班教學,由本系5至6位教師親自帶領。本課程教導生物學的基本學習方法。從英文閱讀及課文延伸選讀中幫助學生習得未來進階生物學知識的方法,此與大二大三遺傳學及分子生物學等必修課學習密切關聯。本課程亦將教導學生批判思考科學方法與科學邏輯、期刊文獻閱讀、小組討論、寫作、專業與多媒體軟體使用等,與大二生物學研究導論和大三大四的專題論文自成一貫脈絡。Strengthen English reading comprehension skills and prepare for senior core courses. Improve the teaching of general biology and lay a solid foundation of biological knowledge for first-year students, connecting the "Introduction to Biological Research" courses for sophomores and "Biomedical Thesis" and "Ecology Thesis" for third- and fourth-year undergraduate students in the department. Provide students with a consistent development path in developing knowledge, reading ability, and practical ability. This course is expected to lay the foundation for students' future basic abilities in knowledge (genetics and molecular biology) and research practice (biomedical thesis and ecological thesis). There are 15 to 20 people in each class for small class teaching, led by 5 to 6 teachers from the department. This course teaches basic learning methods in biology. A method to help students acquire advanced biological knowledge in the future through English reading and extended text selection. This is closely related to the study of compulsory courses such as genetics and molecular biology in sophomore and junior years. This course will also teach students to think critically about scientific methods and logic, read journal documents, group discussions, writing, use of professional and multimedia software, etc. It is in a consistent vein with the introduction to biology research in sophomores and the special papers in juniors and seniors.
