本課程以現在進入實用化階段之人工智能為研究對象（亦即由機械來從事人類所使用的智能的人工智能，包含深度學習之機械學習科技在內），探討相關法律問題。現階段實用化之人工智能，已對社會帶來不小的衝擊，且成為社會及產業變革之強大動力。在今後的社會中，人工智能之進化、普及，現已勢不可擋，但經驗的教訓告訴我們，許多有益技術的普及，往往不顧其可能招致的後果，因此，應如何解決使用人工智能所可能引發之法律問題，如何使人工智能之進化、普及圓滑前進，應如何適切利用人工智能等問題，值得吾人用心思考。
