Architectural Criticism and Tunghai's Cultural Heritage
教育目標 Course Target
透過多個案研究,尤其東海大學校園校舍有形文化資產之價值評估,闡述建築藝術批評之意義與內涵。本課將提出批評建築作品之方法論與技術,彰顯其在提升學術界建築研究以及專業界建築設計水平力道之途徑,以及其與地域或全球建築史、理論之關連。進而將之關連起有形文化資產保存實務中,闡明其與文資本身歷史、文、藝術美學、科技、社會價值之發掘,亦及與文資保存工作核心範疇的密切關係。
於上述課程所傳授之知能,期盼可提升同學自我建築設計發展過程中 反省評估各種方案之能力。同時明瞭到,若要從事文資保存專業時,該儲備關鍵知能以辨明文資之價值所在。甚而對有志攅研建築史、理論領域,而進入建築批評專業的同學,有所啟發,並儲備基礎能力。 
Through multiple case studies, especially the value assessment of the tangible cultural assets of Tunghai University campus, the significance and connotation of architectural art criticism are explained. This course will propose methodologies and techniques for criticizing architectural works, demonstrating its effectiveness in improving architectural research in academia and architectural design in the professional world, as well as its connection with regional or global architectural history and theory. Then it is related to the practice of preserving tangible cultural assets, and its close relationship with the exploration of the history, literature, artistic aesthetics, science and technology, and social value of literary capital itself is explained, as well as with the core areas of cultural assets preservation work.
The knowledge imparted in the above courses is expected to enhance students’ ability to reflect on and evaluate various options during their own architectural design development process. At the same time, it is clear that if you want to engage in the field of cultural heritage preservation, the key to this knowledge is to be able to identify the value of cultural heritage. It can even inspire students who are interested in studying architectural history and theory before entering the architectural criticism major, and help them prepare basic abilities.
