博物館學是一門跨領域的學問。由於它含蓋的領域多元,例如：人類學、藝術、自然科學
、歷史等等,它與我們的文化藝術發展、社會生活、與自然環境息息相關。本課程希望同學對這門豐富的研究領域能有初步的了解。本課程的目標有四：
1.對這門豐富的研究領域之範疇能有初步的了解。
2.建立博物館學域的相關專業概念
3.了解博物館學相關的實務工作。
4.為目前國內發燒似地成長中的博物館現象,培育一股專業的力量。

Museology is an interdisciplinary subject. Because it covers diverse fields, such as anthropology, art, and natural sciences
, history, etc., it is closely related to our cultural and artistic development, social life, and natural environment. This course hopes that students will have a preliminary understanding of this rich research field. The objectives of this course are fourfold:
1. Have a preliminary understanding of the scope of this rich research field.
2. Establish relevant professional concepts in the field of museum studies
3. Understand the practical work related to museology.
4. Cultivate a professional force for the museum phenomenon that is currently growing feverishly in China.

博物館與美術館是歷史與社會文化的產物。本課程將博物館（museums）、博物館學（museology）與博物館誌（museography）放在社會文化的脈絡中，視博物館/美術館及其相關社會事實為一個整體，通過內在的、歷史的、地域的、比較的、以及實踐的詮釋觀點，依序探討相關博物館學的主題。

Museums and art galleries are products of history and social culture. This course places museums, museology and museography in the context of society and culture, views museums/art galleries and their related social facts as a whole, and explores related museology themes sequentially through internal, historical, regional, comparative and practical interpretation perspectives.
