由於我國人口結構快速變遷，整體老年人口快速增加，人口老化現象明顯，為了因應結構變遷所產生之社會需求，政府及實務單位投入大量心力於老人福利及服務體系之建置，藉以提升老人及家庭照顧者之生活品質。在此過程中，因著政策理念差異，福利體系的內涵產生了動態性變化，影響老人實務現場之態樣，對老人社會工作實務產生挑戰與發展契機。因此，本課程將以全面與整合性的角度，協助學生瞭解老人學相關學理、老人及其情境之特性、老人社會工作實務內涵，以及實務面之價值與倫理。

Due to the rapid changes in my country's population structure, the overall elderly population is increasing rapidly, and the phenomenon of population aging is obvious. In order to respond to the social needs generated by structural changes, the government and practical units have invested a lot of effort in the establishment of elderly welfare and service systems to improve the quality of life of the elderly and family caregivers. In this process, due to differences in policy concepts, the connotation of the welfare system has undergone dynamic changes, which has affected the appearance of the elderly practice scene and created challenges and development opportunities for the practice of social work for the elderly. Therefore, this course will help students understand the relevant theories of gerontology, the characteristics of the elderly and their situations, the practical connotation of social work for the elderly, and the practical values ​​and ethics from a comprehensive and integrated perspective.
