The Seminar on Social Work Culture

教育目標 Course Target

在社會工作短短一百多年的發展歷史中,一直有個「擔心自己不夠專業」的生存焦慮。而美國社會工作的專業化過程,就是一個追求「科學地位」,且是以「醫學」為仿效對象的專業化歷程;繼受美國社會工作的台灣,也承接了這樣的專業發展架構與思維。

本課程希望我們一起來針對同一議題、不同觀看角度的論文,來進行閱讀、對話、討論、分享,讓自己有機會來重新理解及重看社會工作,例如針對「以證據為基礎的社會工作」這個議題,「科學化」、「醫療化」的觀點怎麼看,「人本主義」、「詮釋取向」的觀點怎麼看。只有不斷地重新理解及重看社會工作,才有移動的可能,進而有多元的社會工作知識生產,這便是本課程的核心理念。此外,本課程也希望協助修課同學了解如何閱讀文獻,並對一個議題進行思辯;透過這種能力的培養,增進自己深度思度的能力,並帶著這樣的能力,為社會工作的知識生產及實踐貢獻一己之力。

In the development history of just over a hundred years of social work, there has always been an existential anxiety of "worrying that one is not professional enough". The professionalization process of social work in the United States is a professionalization process that pursues "scientific status" and is modeled on "medicine". Taiwan, which inherited American social work, also inherited this professional development structure and thinking.

This course hopes that we will read, dialogue, discuss, and share papers on the same topic from different perspectives, so that we can have the opportunity to re-understand and re-see social work. For example, regarding the topic of "evidence-based social work," what do we think of the "scientific" and "medical" perspectives, and what do we think of the "humanistic" and "interpretive orientation" perspectives. Only by constantly re-understanding and re-evaluating social work can it be possible to move and then produce diverse social work knowledge. This is the core concept of this course. In addition, this course also hopes to help students understand how to read literature and think about an issue; through the cultivation of this ability, they can enhance their ability to think deeply, and with this ability, they can contribute to the knowledge production and practice of social work.
