新經濟(New Economy)，意指傳統製造工業經濟的型態，轉變成新的科技經濟型態。也就是近年來，以網路、資訊與通訊科技應用為主體的新興產業。這波資通訊技術的進步與革命，造就美國在二十世紀末的經濟繁榮，稱為新經濟。
進入二十一世紀之後，美國在大數據（Big data）、雲端運算（cloud computing）、物聯網（IoT）等領域上所引發的服務、商業模式的創新，造成新經濟的再起。再加上，這兩年人工智慧（AI）應用蔚為風潮，預期又將巔覆許多傳統產業與商業模式。此外，中國大陸因互聯網+所帶動的經濟成長，可視為中國版的新經濟。
面對美國與中國大陸這波新經濟的發展，勢將對臺灣產業整體供應鏈、生產模式及未來產業的競爭力，帶來極大的衝擊。面臨此一重大挑戰，產業需要掌握智慧科技帶來的破壞性的創新，積極地進行轉型，以因應這波因科技創新造成的新經濟與商業模式創新之風潮。
本課程將介紹這波因大數據、雲端運算、物聯網、人工智慧等應用，在各個產業帶來了破壞性創新的新服務或營運模式，例如阿里巴巴集團(Alibaba group)、Amazon Go、優步（Uber）、共享旅館（Airbnb）、影音串流（Netflix）等，讓修課學生瞭解資通訊科技的應用，尤其是互聯網、物聯網、雲端運算、大數據、人工智慧等，如何讓企業創造新的服務與商業模式，並對原有產業造成革命性的衝擊。New Economy means the traditional manufacturing industry economy and transforms into a new technological economy. That is, in recent years, a new industry has been mainly engaged in Internet, information and communication technology applications. This wave of advancement and revolution in information communication technology has created the economic prosperity of the United States at the end of the 20th century, called the new economy.
After entering the 21st century, the innovation of services and business models triggered by the United States in areas such as Big data, cloud computing, and Internet of Things (IoT) has led to a resurgence of new economy. In addition, the trend of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in the past two years is expected to cover many traditional and business models. In addition, the economic growth driven by Internet+ in China can be seen as the Chinese version of the new economy.
Faced with the development of this new economic development in the United States and Mainland China, it will bring great impact on the overall supply chain, production model and future industries of Taiwan's industry. Faced with this major challenge, industries need to master the destructive innovation brought by smart technology and actively transform them to meet the new economic and business model innovation trend caused by technological innovation.
This course will introduce the applications of this wave of large data, cloud computing, network, artificial intelligence, etc., which brings new service or operation models that disrupt and innovate in various industries, such as Alibaba group and Amazon Go, Uber, shared hotels (Airbnb), audio and video streaming (Netflix), etc., let students understand the application of information technology, especially Internet, Internet of Things, cloud computing, large data, artificial intelligence, etc., how enterprises can create new service and business models and cause revolutionary impacts on the original industry.
