德國當代哲學家馬丁•海德格 (Martin Heidegger，1889-1976) 在現象學、存在主義、解構主義、詮釋學、後現代主義、政治理論、心理學及神學有舉足輕重的影響。
本課程將透過透過海德格哲學著作的研讀，並以《存有與時間》（Sein und Zeit, Being and Time, 1927）第二篇為主軸，加上《哲學論稿》（11935-36）、〈物〉（1950），藉由在世生存的描述與結構分析，通過現象學和詮釋學，瞭解海德格前期、中後期哲學對死亡的看法。藉由瞭解死亡的真實意義，海德格於前期欲探討的是如何本真地、自由地生存於世，在日常生活之中能夠如其所是地、自由地生存。於中後期，瞭解死亡則是如何為存有真理的發生奠立基礎，讓人置入敞開的澄明之中，完成人的本質，成為存有真理的守護者。

The contemporary German philosopher Martin Heidegger (1889-1976) has a decisive influence on phenomenology, existentialism, deconstruction, hermeneutics, postmodernism, political theory, psychology and theology.
This course will study Heidegger's philosophical works, taking the second chapter of "Sein und Zeit, Being and Time, 1927" as the main axis, plus "Philosophical Papers" (11935-36) and "Things" (1950), through the description and structural analysis of living in the world, and through phenomenology and hermeneutics, to understand Heidegger's early, middle and later philosophical views on death. By understanding the true meaning of death, Heidegger wanted to explore in the early stage how to live authentically and freely in the world, and how to live freely and as it is in daily life. In the middle and later stages, understanding how death lays the foundation for the emergence of existential truth, puts people into open clarity, completes human nature, and becomes the guardian of existential truth.
