Social Practice of Architecture Education

教育目標 Course Target

“社會”一詞通常跟“人類社會”有相同含義,其著眼點為社會由人類共同組成。對建築教育而言,如果可以透過「實證與調查」「參與與對談」「批判與分析」,在學生時期就可以熟悉人與人之間社會關係的建立,可以讓學生在學習建築設計的過程中增設計的“溫度”。這是本課程的目標。
換句話說,“建築設計”加上與“社會之人對話“,透過想像力與創造力的實踐,將可能更深切理解與認識自身學習目標與相向。很明確的,設計者不能獨活於社會,終將面對使用者的深切想像。更延伸解釋的說明,建築設計者應該回到面對社會與人的深切理解,思考建築的可能性。

課程過程中,我們將分兩個進程,第一個階段為,創作與對談。對談的定義是將設計變成可以直接讓社會之人評價與說明的機制。這是什麼意思?學生必須將創作視之為商品,透過與非建築專業的社會之人的接觸理解自身創意被接受的程度。

第二階段將為遠在緬甸的偏鄉孤兒院設計一個建築,課程期間會討論社會人的真實需求與設計慾念的差距。如果有機會,我們將於寒假時出發,去真實的實踐我們的建築設計。
給予者與受予者之間的距離,是這一個課程最主要要討論的議題。

這堂課的重點在於設計實踐二字,因此可以解釋成建築設計的延伸。是需要做設計的。

The word "society" usually has the same meaning as "human society", focusing on the fact that society is composed of human beings. For architectural education, if "empirical evidence and investigation", "participation and dialogue" and "criticism and analysis" can be used, students can become familiar with the establishment of social relationships between people during their student years, allowing students to increase the "temperature" of design in the process of learning architectural design. This is the goal of this course.
In other words, through "architectural design" plus "dialogue with people in society", through the practice of imagination and creativity, it will be possible to have a deeper understanding and awareness of one's own learning goals and objectives. It is clear that designers cannot live alone in society and will eventually face the deep imagination of users. To extend the explanation, architectural designers should return to a deep understanding of society and people and think about the possibilities of architecture.

During the course, we will divide it into two stages. The first stage is creation and dialogue. The definition of dialogue is to turn design into a mechanism that can be directly evaluated and explained by people in society. What does this mean? Students must regard creations as commodities and understand the degree to which their ideas are accepted through contact with non-architecture majors in society.

In the second stage, a building will be designed for a remote orphanage in Myanmar. During the course, the gap between the real needs of society and design desires will be discussed. If given the chance, we will set off during the winter vacation to actually practice our architectural design.
The distance between the giver and the receiver is the most important topic to be discussed in this course.

The focus of this class is on the word design practice, so it can be interpreted as an extension of architectural design. It requires design.
