面對我們日常生活中的重要問題與重要經驗：身心健康、學習表現、情緒動機、決策思考、溝通、親密關係等，心理學研究可以幫助我們瞭解人在這些面向的內在心智運作機制與外在從為表現的成因與影響因素。本課程透過介紹心理學門在各面向領域研究的關切焦點，引領學生建立心智與行為的生理基礎知識，瞭解社會、文化與生物因素如何共同作用於個體上，同時也訓練學生critical thinking的能力。

Facing important issues and experiences in our daily lives: physical and mental health, academic performance, emotional motivation, decision-making and thinking, communication, intimate relationships, etc., psychological research can help us understand the causes and influencing factors of people’s internal mental operating mechanisms and external behaviors in these aspects. By introducing the focus of research in various fields of psychology, this course leads students to establish the basic physiological knowledge of mind and behavior, understand how social, cultural and biological factors work together on individuals, and also trains students' critical thinking ability.

心理學是一門多元性的科學，心理學試圖探究人類行為與心理歷程變化的普遍原理原則。這門心理學課程涵蓋了心理學的歷史發展，人類的大腦及神經系統對人行為影響的介紹，人的知覺及意識狀態，人類行為學習的原理，記憶的廣度及遺忘歷程，語言、思考與問題解決，智力與能力介紹，人格理論的介紹，行為的動機，人類的情緒，異常行為的成因及類別，心理治療，人類對壓力反應與健康等等的內容使學生能對人類心理有基礎性的瞭解。
