This is a course that uses reading videos (character films and record films) as a means to use social concepts and theoretical thinking to understand the contemporary world more comprehensively. The content covers important social (school) issues in contemporary times, including knowledge and power, modern cities, level contradictions and conflicts, and the "people" in the contemporary world. Also in the later part of the course, through two important works of Taiwan’s new films, we can recognize and reflect on several important issues of the contemporary era, such as colonization, 228, white terror, and "provincial". The way to attend classes is to read videos, organize discussions, and lectures and lead discussions by teachers.
The classification of this course is very important and is reflected in the common scores with heavy proportions. The course needs to be conducted through sub-group discussions and reports from each group. In the last week of the school year, each group of classes will report a record or drama selected by each group, explaining to the class why this film makes you like and feel important, and willing to share it with everyone. The videos shared by each group on November 14th will be shared by the representative works of three minutes and a short selection of three-minute films.
Attend and focus on reading videos at any time (not "watching movies"), make your notes, and make necessary supplements and developments during the course. The purpose of recording is to cultivate your ability to observe and record key points, and is actually used for sub-group discussions and exam preparation. Notes need to be recorded in a single note book and must be taken every time you attend a class.
