教育目標 Course Target

課程概述 (Course Description): 本課程旨在協助學生掌握現代西方邏輯的理論,包括語句邏輯 (sentential logic) [命題邏輯 (Propositional logic)]、三段論 (syllogisms) 及一階謂詞邏輯 (first-order predicate logic)。此外,本課程亦冀能協助學生運用西方邏輯的方法,去分析及探討西方與中國哲學中的語言與邏輯問題。討論內容包括:西方哲學中的存有承諾 (ontological commitment) 問題、神學中的論證、道家的超越言說與邏輯的觀點、公孫龍子的指涉理論、存有論及邏輯思考,以及後期墨家的邏輯思想等。 教學目標 (Teaching Objectives): 本課程之課題具有科際整合的性質。在方法上,本課將結合邏輯學、歷史語法學、語言哲學等學科之方法。在內容上,本課將總結中外學者在此領域中的研究成果。除了可以藉此幫助同學掌握現代西方邏輯的理論,深入理解古代中國的語言與邏輯思想,及可望引領同學進入科際整合的研究。 Course Description: This course aims to help students master the theory of modern Western logic, including sentence logic [Propositional logic], syllogisms, and first-order predicate logic. In addition, this course also hopes to help students use Western logic methods to analyze and explore language and logic problems in Western and Chinese philosophy. The discussion includes: ontological commitment in Western philosophy, arguments in theology, Taoism's transcendent speech and logic, Gongsun Longzi's theory of reference, existing arguments and logical thinking, and later Mohist logical thoughts. Teaching Objectives: The subjects in this course are subject-integrated. In terms of methods, this course will combine methods in subjects such as logic, history and grammar, and language philosophy. In terms of content, this course will summarize the research results of Chinese and foreign students in this field. In addition to helping students master the theory of modern Western logic, deeply understand the language and logic ideas of ancient China, and hope to lead students to research that integrate science.
