本課程是對上世紀在中國思想界具有重大影響,並對中國近代社會政治、文化轉型產生直接作用和深遠影響的主要政治文化思潮發展脈絡的梳理和主要思想家人物,及其思想主張的介紹。課程以思潮特徵分類,把講述重點放在五四後期中國思想界出現的激進主義、保守主義和自由主義三大思想流派的分野上,考察其各自的形態、特徵和演進軌跡,乃至在當今思想文化領域的反映。課程所探索的主要問題包括:中國近代的社會轉型中的東西方文化衝突,以及中國思想界對外來文化的吸納、調適和改造。文化保守主義對重建中國文化價值的努力,中國激進主義文化運動對中國文化傳統轉換及對中國社會變革的影響,中國自由主義的特點及在現今歷史條件下的發展,以及三大思潮之間的互相依存、制衡和互動關係考察等,以期引導同學對當今全球化加快的進程中,不同的文化傳統如何參與現代社會的建構,中國如何走出社會和文化轉型的困頓作出思考。
通過此課程學習,學生應掌握的知識能力我們這門課程與一般的介紹歷史知識的課程是有所不同的,一般的歷史課程重點在敘述歷史現象和事件,也即告訴你歷史過程是什麼,曾經發生過什麼事。而我們這門課程,不僅告訴你歷史現象和過程是什麼,更重要的是回答你中國近代歷史的發展為什麼會發生這樣的現象,為什麼是這樣的一個過程?正因為此,我們這門課程將關注的重心放在引領歷史進程背後的思想、思潮上,回答的不僅為是什麼,還要努力去探究為什麼,這是更深層次的思考。
This course is an overview of the development of major political and cultural trends of thought that had a significant impact on China's ideological circles in the last century and had a direct and far-reaching impact on China's modern social, political and cultural transformation, as well as an introduction to the main thinkers and their ideological propositions. The course is classified by the characteristics of ideological trends, focusing on the divisions between the three major schools of thought, namely radicalism, conservatism and liberalism that emerged in the Chinese ideological circles in the late May Fourth period, and examines their respective forms, characteristics and evolutionary trajectories, as well as their reflections in today's ideological and cultural fields. The main issues explored in the course include: the conflict between Eastern and Western cultures in China's modern social transformation, and the absorption, adaptation and transformation of foreign cultures by Chinese intellectual circles. The efforts of cultural conservatism in rebuilding Chinese cultural values, the impact of Chinese radical cultural movements on the transformation of Chinese cultural traditions and the transformation of Chinese society, the characteristics of Chinese liberalism and its development under current historical conditions, as well as the interdependence, checks and balances and interactive relationships between the three major trends of thought, etc., are intended to guide students to think about how different cultural traditions participate in the construction of modern society in the accelerated process of globalization, and how China can get out of the difficulties of social and cultural transformation.
Through this course, students should master the knowledge and abilities. Our course is different from general courses that introduce historical knowledge. General history courses focus on describing historical phenomena and events, that is, telling you what the historical process is and what happened in the past. Our course not only tells you what historical phenomena and processes are, but more importantly, it answers why such a phenomenon occurred in the development of China’s modern history, and why was it such a process? Because of this, our course will focus on the ideas and trends behind the historical process. We should not only answer what is, but also strive to explore why. This is a deeper thinking.
