Students will gain perspectives on European literature that will encourage an understanding of all human culture as a construct and thus foster critical thought regarding many aspects of the human experience such as, e.g., governmental systems; religion, myth, and ritual; gender roles; notions of social class and caste; race and ethnicity; etc.

This course will be a playful dive into the English language. Its purpose, however will be more serious. I intend to guide students to a better understanding of Western logic through the creative use of narrative and metaphor in poetry, very short fiction, and dramatic dialogue.
