本課程目標在於使修課同學繼「兩漢學術概論」課程之後，能理解漢帝國崩潰之後中國士人思考帝國存在之理論基礎，重新檢視兩漢黃老思想中的「天德」觀念，提出面對龐大的帝國政治，一個最理想的帝王應該具備什麼樣的生命境界？並且在儒家的「名教」與道家的「自然」二者之間應該採取什麼樣的態度？劉劭、王弼、阮籍、嵇康、郭象 等人的才性論與玄論，以及魏晉清談的內容是本課程的重點。The purpose of this course is to enable students to follow the "Overview of Two Hans Academics" course, to understand the theoretical basis of the Chinese scholars thinking about the existence of the imperial world after the collapse of Han Empire, to re-examine the concept of "heavenly virtue" in the two Hans Huang Lao's thoughts, and to propose what kind of life realm should a most ideal emperor have when facing the great imperial politics? And what kind of attitude should be adopted between the Confucian "famous religion" and the Taoist "nature"? The talent and mystical discussions of Liu Shao, Wang Bi, Ruan Ji, Ji Kang, Guo Xiang and others, as well as the content of Wei Qing’s discussions, are the focus of this course.
