本課程之開授旨在引導學生欣賞小說名著，認識中國古典短篇小說的形式演變、時代特徵、主題源流、敘事藝術，且觸及該短篇小說與朝代社會、文化、思想之關係，期許透過作品選讀和分析，培養學生擁有獨立詮釋作品的審美能力，由此熟悉中國古典短篇小說的特點與中國傳統文化、思想的內容。

The purpose of this course is to guide students to appreciate novel masterpieces, understand the formal evolution, contemporary characteristics, theme origins, and art of events of Chinese classical short stories, and to touch on the relationship between the short stories and the society, culture and thoughts of dynasty. It is recommended that through the selection and analysis of the works, students can cultivate the aesthetic ability of independent essay works, and thus become familiar with the characteristics of Chinese classical short stories and the content of Chinese traditional culture and thoughts.
