『創作性戲劇』是一種即興的,非展示的,以程序進行為中心(process-centered)的一種戲劇形式。在其中,參與者在領導者的引導之下,去想像,實作(enact)並反應出人們的經驗,以人類的衝動(impulse)與能力(ability),表現出其生存世界的概念(perception of the world)以期使學習者瞭解之。創作性戲劇同時需要邏輯與本能的思考(logical and intuitive thinking),個人化的知識,並產生美感上的愉悅(aesthetiC pleasure)。儘管創作性戲劇在傳統上一直被認定屬於兒童及少年,其程序卻適用所有的年齡層。同時,該協會為此定義作了更進一步的解釋:創作性戲劇的程序就是動力(dynamic),領導者引導一組學習者,透過戲劇性的實作(dramatic enactment)去開拓、發展、表達與交流、觀念與感覺。在創作性戲劇中,一組學生以即興演出之動作與對話,發展出適宜的內容。採用戲劇的素材,係就經驗的範圍,產出形式與意義。
"Creative drama" is an improvisational, non-exhibitional, process-centered form of drama. In it, under the guidance of the leader, participants imagine, enact and reflect people's experiences, using human impulse and ability to express their perception of the world in order to make learners understand it. Creative drama requires both logical and intuitive thinking, personal knowledge, and produces aesthetic pleasure. Although creative theater has traditionally been identified with children and adolescents, its procedures are applicable to all ages. At the same time, the association further explained this definition: The process of creative drama is dynamic. The leader guides a group of learners to develop, develop, express and communicate, concepts and feelings through dramatic enactment. In creative drama, a group of students improvises action and dialogue to develop appropriate content. The materials of drama are used, and the scope of experience is tied to produce form and meaning.
