除了配偶及家人之外，居住環境可以說是老年人最為關心之晚年生活事項，本課程將講述與老年人居家環境相關之各項議題，包括老化過程與其對行動居住之影響，老年人與居家環境之互動，居住之基本概念，居住安排之抉擇，居家環境與老年照顧之關係，老年居家住宅之類型，居住環境之規劃與設計，老人機構之規劃及管理等。

In addition to spouses and family members, the living environment can be said to be the most important concern for the elderly in their later years. This course will cover various issues related to the elderly's home environment, including the aging process and its impact on mobility and living, the interaction between the elderly and the home environment, the basic concepts of living, the choice of living arrangements, the relationship between home environment and elderly care, types of elderly home residences, planning and design of living environment, planning and management of institutions for the elderly, etc.

「老年居住環境」這門專題討論課程之主要目的在於探討與老年人居家環境安排方面有關之各項概念和議題。由於不論在已開發或發展中的國家社會裡，人口結構之高齡化已成為必然的社會現象，各國的老年人口比率呈現出逐漸增加之趨勢，對於回應此一社會議題之老人福利政策與措施亦受到更多的重視，因此在倡導老年人福利方面，遂漸漸出現一些與居住安養有關的需求和政策走向。台灣地區在這方面相關的探討約從二十年前才開始，故本課程希望藉由從西方先進國家對老人居住的文獻之瞭解為背景，來探討各種老年人居住安養的內涵，並討論在台灣地區對老人居住議題有興趣者，若未來在參與此一方面之策劃時應有何種瞭解，亦藉由實地參觀訪問；從各相關人員之處蒐集資料，期以獲得學理和實務應用上雙重的知識。

The main purpose of the seminar course "Residential Environment for the Elderly" is to explore various concepts and issues related to home environment arrangements for the elderly. Since the aging of the population structure has become an inevitable social phenomenon in both developed and developing countries, the proportion of the elderly population in various countries has shown a gradual increase trend, and more attention has been paid to the welfare policies and measures for the elderly in response to this social issue. Therefore, in terms of advocating the welfare of the elderly, some needs and policy trends related to residential care have gradually emerged. Relevant discussions in this area in Taiwan only started about twenty years ago. Therefore, this course hopes to explore the connotations of various elderly residences and care in Taiwan based on the understanding of the literature on elderly housing from advanced Western countries. Those who are interested in senior housing issues in the region will also conduct on-site visits to collect information from relevant personnel in order to gain knowledge in both academic and practical applications.
