一、課程目標
本課程以seminar形式，帶領上課同學進行鳩摩羅什漢譯《維摩詰所說經》的共同譯註與評析，包含主要譯本（鳩摩羅什與玄奘）之比對、注疏傳統（後秦僧肇、隋鏡影慧遠、隋末唐初嘉祥吉藏、唐窺基等）與當代國際學界譯註成果之文獻批判性整理、重新翻譯以及哲學探討，從第一手閱讀以及文獻處理的經驗中，吸取此入世菩薩不二教法經典的基本知識，並從中發展、探討般若經典所涉及的佛教哲學議題。同時，亦因為《維摩詰經》本身豐富的文藝美學涵養，經由大量與此經相關的經變圖，以及受此經典所影響的南北朝清談、六朝志怪、唐朝詩文（王維、王安石等），從藝術與文學角度角度，折射包含在此經典傳統中的初期大乘勃發的「火中生蓮花，是可謂稀有，在欲而行禪，稀有亦如是」入世無礙、真空不二精神，。

二、課程內涵
（1）以大正藏鳩摩羅什漢譯為主要譯本，比對玄奘與支謙之譯本。（2）從《維摩詰經》歷代論、注與疏中，挑選東晉僧肇、隋鏡影慧遠、隋末唐初嘉祥吉藏、唐窺基等）批判整理注疏材料。（3）同時，也參考Lamotte (1962)依照巴利文，以及大正大學佛家梵文文學研究小組 SGBSL (2004) 依照梵文與藏文的英文翻譯。讓同學們以現代漢語共同譯註，以及進行哲學評析與發展。

1. Course Objectives
In the form of a seminar, this course will lead students to jointly translate and comment on Kumarajiva's Chinese translation of "The Sutra Said by Vimalakīrti", including comparison of the main translations (Kumarāshi and Xuanzang), commentary traditions (Seng Zhao of the Later Qin Dynasty, Jingying Huiyuan of the Sui Dynasty, Jiaxiang Jizang of the late Sui Dynasty and early Tang Dynasty, and Juji of the Tang Dynasty). etc.) and contemporary international academic translation and annotation results, through critical compilation, re-translation and philosophical discussion of the literature. From the experience of first-hand reading and document processing, we can absorb the basic knowledge of this classic of the non-dual teachings of the Bodhisattva, and develop and explore the Buddhist philosophical issues involved in the Prajna classic. At the same time, because of the rich literary and aesthetic qualities of the Vimalakīrti Sutra itself, through a large number of sutra-related pictures, as well as the talks of the Southern and Northern Dynasties, the legends of the Six Dynasties, and the poetry of the Tang Dynasty (Wang Wei, Wang Anshi) influenced by this sutra, etc.), from the perspective of art and literature, it reflects the early Mahayana spirit contained in this classic tradition: "A lotus grows in the fire, it is rare. It is rare to meditate on desire, and it is also rare."

2. Course content
(1) Take the Chinese translation of Kumarajiva from the Dasho Collection as the main translation, and compare the translations of Xuanzang and Zhiqian. (2) From the previous commentaries, commentaries and commentaries on the Vimalakīrti Sutra, we selected the commentaries and commentaries of Seng Zhao of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Jingying Huiyuan of the Sui Dynasty, Jiaxiang Jizang of the late Sui Dynasty and early Tang Dynasty, Juji of the Tang Dynasty, etc.) to criticize and organize the commentaries. (3) At the same time, also refer to Lamotte (1962) based on Pali, and Taisho University Buddhist Sanskrit Literature Research Group SGBSL (2004) based on Sanskrit and Tibetan English translation. Let students jointly translate and annotate in modern Chinese, and conduct philosophical analysis and development.
