2171 - 殖民與反抗:日據下的台灣 Colonization and Resistance


教育目標 Course Target

這門課嘗試從文學和行動者的主體狀態去理解日據時期到光復初期被殖民者的掙扎與痛苦,進而探究殖民性的構成和清理。台灣在日本帝國主義下不同世代的歷史記憶,以及其後在冷戰內戰的體制下殖民認同的隔代殘留等問題,直接間接影響當代台灣社會的政治經濟及文化領域。因而,通過深入理解與我們不同時代人在面對歷史局勢下的感受、疑惑和選擇,以及考察他們如何思考和設想可能的出路之後,這門課的目標也在促使我們重新認識帝國主義、台灣的社會性質,以及文化抵抗的可能性。這樣,我們才可能從中汲取或借鑒知識分子先行者們的精神狀態和知識狀況,以調整當下我們自己的知識學習狀況,以及直面和介入當代的社會現象和殖民/後殖民相關論述之批判與討論。   閱讀材料包括殖民歷史社會學研究和日據時期台灣人物的文學、傳記或回憶錄等,我們可以藉由這門課認識到的知識分子和作家出發,拉出更大的歷史視角和理論視角,進一步展開社會學的重要議題和研究。This class attempts to understand the perience and pain of the colonists from the literature and the subjective state of the activist to understand the perience period to the early stage of light resurrection, and then explore the structure and cleaning of coloniality. Taiwan’s historical memory of different generations under the Japanese imperialism and the subsequent colonial residency recognized by the Cold War under the system of internal wars, directly affecting the political economy and cultural fields of contemporary Taiwanese society. Therefore, by deeply understanding the feelings, doubts and choices of people from different eras in the face of historical situations, and examining how they think and think about possible ways out, the purpose of this course is also prompting us to re-understand the imperialism, the social nature of Taiwan, and the possibility of cultural resistance. In this way, we can draw or borrow the spiritual and intellectual conditions of intellectual pioneers from it to adjust our own intellectual learning situation and face and intervene in contemporary social phenomena and colonial/post-colonial related criticisms. Reading materials include social research on colonial history and literature, transcription or recollection of Taiwanese figures during the Japanese period. We can use the intellectuals and writers we have learned to create a larger historical and theoretical perspective and further develop important social issues and research.
