本課程主要是Karl Polanyi經典《鉅變》（The Great Transformation）的導讀。透過以《濟貧法》、歐文（Robert Owen）的社會實驗和William Blake的詩作為參考座標，安置該書的歷史、社會與知識脈絡，並透過文本講授與討論，掌握《鉅變》的思想貢獻與Karl Polanyi理論的當代重要意義。
This course is mainly an introduction to Karl Polanyi's classic "The Great Transformation". By using the Poor Law, Robert Owen's social experiments and William Blake's poems as reference coordinates, the book's historical, social and intellectual context is placed, and through text lectures and discussions, the ideological contribution of "The Great Change" and the contemporary importance of Karl Polanyi's theory are grasped.
