欲以抽樣數據建立數學模型，乃至加以預測，其相關的理論基礎就是統計學。本課程屬於機率學延伸的課程，內容以數理統計為主，所衍生之應用包括作業研究、網路通訊、財務工程、人工智慧等。本課程的目標是引導同學學習統計學以下幾個重要的基本觀念，並熟練相關計算與應用：
1. 理解大數法則、中央極限定理。
2. 理解統計推論的點估計、區間估計、假設檢定等觀念，並且熟練其相關計算與應用。
2. 理解統計推論的貝式分析，並且熟練其相關計算與應用。
3. 理解隨機過程的觀念，如Poisson過程、Markov鏈、Brownian運動，並且熟練其相關計算與應用。

If you want to use sampled data to establish a mathematical model or even make predictions, the relevant theoretical basis is statistics. This course is an extension of probability science. The content is mainly mathematical statistics, and its derived applications include homework research, network communications, financial engineering, artificial intelligence, etc. The goal of this course is to guide students to learn the following important basic concepts of statistics and become proficient in related calculations and applications:
