欲以抽樣數據建立數學模型，乃至加以預測，其相關的理論基礎就是統計學。本課程屬於機率學延伸的課程，內容以數理統計為主，所衍生之應用包括作業研究、網路通訊、財務工程、人工智慧等。本課程的目標是引導同學學習統計學以下幾個重要的基本觀念，並熟練相關計算與應用：
1. 理解大數法則、中央極限定理。
2. 理解統計推論的點估計、區間估計、假設檢定等觀念，並且熟練其相關計算與應用。
2. 理解統計推論的貝式分析，並且熟練其相關計算與應用。
3. 理解隨機過程的觀念，如Poisson過程、Markov鏈、Brownian運動，並且熟練其相關計算與應用。To build a mathematical model with sampling data, or even predict it, the relevant theoretical basis is statistical philosophy. This course belongs to a course that extends the opportunity learning process. The content is mainly based on mathematical statistics.
