Historical Geographic Information System

教育目標 Course Target

1990 年代以來,地理資訊系統(GIS)的觸角逐漸伸展至人文 及社會科學領域,有如開闢了一條嶄新的路徑,不斷提醒著研 究者應去注意俯拾皆是的空間資訊,以期能開拓兼具空間意識 的研究與學習視野。本課程緊扣 GIS 與人文學科之間的相互激 盪所帶來的影響,將在課程中同時規劃實機操作與理論講述, 主要包括三大部分:第一部分,藉由瀏覽現有文史資料及圖資 數位典藏成果,以理解 GIS 於數位典藏中的意義;第二部分, 為人文導向的 GIS 課程,讓同學「看見」人文中的空間性,熟 悉 GIS 的基本操作技巧,並具備繪製分析台灣歷史地圖的能 力;第三部分,讓同學練習整合上述的文史資料,並以互動式 展現成果。藉此課程設計,探究數位典藏與 GIS 在文史領域所 能展現的各種可能性。

Since the 1990s, the reach of geographic information systems (GIS) has gradually extended to the fields of humanities and social sciences, opening up a new path and constantly reminding researchers to pay attention to the spatial information everywhere in order to develop a research and learning horizon with spatial awareness. This course closely follows the impact of the mutual stimulation between GIS and the humanities, and will plan both practical operations and theoretical lectures in the course. It mainly includes three parts: the first part is to understand the significance of GIS in digital collections by browsing existing cultural and historical materials and map data; the second part is a humanities-oriented GIS course that allows students to "see" the spatiality in the humanities and become familiar with GIS. Basic operational skills and the ability to draw and analyze historical maps of Taiwan The third part allows students to practice integrating the above-mentioned cultural and historical materials and display the results interactively. Use this course design to explore the various possibilities that digital collections and GIS can display in the field of literature and history.

課程概述 Course Description

1.了解「GIS」的基本概念、特色及優勢,及其與人文研究、數位典藏與數位人文之間的雙向密切關係。
2.熟悉人文導向的GIS、GPS基本操作,探討應用GIS、GPS於人文及社會科學領域之可能性。
3.創意加值數位典藏現有成果,以GIS生產、整合、管理及展現自己的數位典藏與人文社會空間研究及分析之成果。

1. Understand the basic concepts, characteristics and advantages of "GIS", as well as its two-way close relationship with humanities research, digital collections and digital humanities.
2. Be familiar with the basic operations of humanities-oriented GIS and GPS, and explore the possibility of applying GIS and GPS in the fields of humanities and social sciences.
3. Use GIS to produce, integrate, manage and present the results of your own digital collection and humanities and social space research and analysis by using existing achievements in creative value-added digital collections.
