Since the 1990s, the competition for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has expanded to the humanities and social sciences, which is like opening a new path, constantly reminding researchers to pay attention to the space information everywhere, in order to expand research and learning vision that has both spatial consciousness. This course focuses on the impact of GIS and humanities, and will simultaneously plan practical operation and theoretical discussions in the course, mainly including three parts: the first part, by browsing existing literary and historical data and digital collection results, to understand the meaning of GIS in digital collections; the second part, a humanistic-oriented GIS course, allows students to "see" the space in humanities, be familiar with the basic operating skills of GIS, and be able to draw and analyze Taiwan's historical maps to achieve the ability to paint and analyze Taiwan's historical maps. Part 3: Let students integrate the above-mentioned literary and historical data and display the results in an interactive way. Through this course design, we explore the various possibilities that digital collections and GIS can show in the field of literature and history.
1. Understand the basic concepts, characteristics and advantages of "GIS", and its dual relationship with humanities research, digital collections and digital humanities.
2. Be familiar with the basic operations of GIS and GPS directed by humanities, and explore the possibility of applying GIS and GPS in the humanities and social science fields.
3. Creatively added value digital collections have existing achievements, and GIS produces, integrates, manages and displays the results of research and analysis of their digital collections and humanities and social spaces.
