近年史書美及王德威教授在國際學界提倡「華語語系文學」的概念，期能解除「中心」概念，建立全球各地區華人各為主體的認識，並從中瞭解彼此獲得文化連結的可能。本課程擬透過對不同華語語系地區的文學文本，佐以視覺文本，觀察歷史與地理在文本形式與內容的作用，並從中開展各地區特有及共同的議題，以觀察「中華文化」作為世界不同地區華人共同經驗的風貌，並覽視華語語系文學的多元樣態、省思華語語系跨國連結的現況。

In recent years, Professor Shi Shumei and Professor Wang Dewei have advocated the concept of "Chinese-language literature" in the international academic community, hoping to eliminate the concept of "center", establish an understanding of Chinese people in various regions around the world, and understand the possibility of gaining cultural connections with each other. This course aims to observe the role of history and geography in the form and content of texts by studying literary texts from different Sinophone regions, supplemented by visual texts, and to develop issues unique and common to each region, so as to observe "Chinese culture" as a common experience for Chinese people in different regions of the world, examine the diverse forms of Sinophone literature, and reflect on the current situation of transnational connections among Sinophones.
