本門課程試圖初步闡明漢語言哲學的內涵， 及漢語言哲學和中國哲學研究的互動關係。與此同時，試圖表明以下基本關注：我們正處在一個中國哲學日益自覺的時代，而在參與世界性百家爭鳴的過程中，中國哲學將以“世界哲學”的存在形態理解自身：積極參與世界範圍內的對話；在世界的視域之中思考中國哲學的問題；中國哲學（包括古代、近現代先賢及當代學人的哲學創獲）以自己的獨特價值在世界範圍內擔當更多的思想責任。
