本課程將以介紹汽車設計領域最新的業界設計流程以及整體設計趨勢，同時將介紹汽車造型設計所會應用到的一些數位繪圖技巧與數位工具，包括有3D掃描器與3D印表機在汽車外觀模型製作上的應用，本課程是以專題設計的方式來規劃；將分為上下兩個學期來進行，上學期的課程將著重於汽車造型設計的數位建模技巧(3D CAD)的訓練以及汽車油土模型的製作，以培養學生在數位造型設計的專業能力及實體造型美學的塑型能力，希望藉由此課程的開設，可以讓學生具備數位創新設計的多元能力，未來可以投入汽車設計的專業領域，為產業界貢獻一己之力，此為本課程最主要的開設目的。
