社會科學研究法，主要分成量化、質性等兩大類，不僅是學術研究的基本課程，在實務界也非常有用。當政府部門、研究人員要規劃與評估公共政策，業者要開發商品、擬定行銷策略，都可以妥善運用社會科學研究法來操作。本課程適合將就讀研究所、關心公共議題，計劃從事公職，或是進入企業、非營利機構、媒體工作的同學修習，期望同學建立對社會科學研究方法的基本認識，包括：它到底是什麼、質性跟量化研究有何不同、有哪些方法、該如何操作等，進而培養從事學術研究、分析公共議題、進入職場的能力。

The social science research method is mainly divided into two categories: quantitative and quality. It is not only the basic course of academic research, but also very useful in the practical world. When government departments and researchers plan and evaluate public policies, practitioners must develop goods and define marketing strategies, they can properly use social science research methods to operate. This course is suitable for students who study in the institute, pay attention to public issues, plan to work in public, or enter enterprises, non-profit institutions, and media. It is expected that students can establish basic understanding of social science research methods, including: what exactly is it, how is its quality different from quantitative research, what methods are there, how to operate it, etc., and then cultivate the ability to study academic research, analyze public issues, and enter the field.
